Do trees grow in Winter?

I know crops apparently won't grow, but will trees? I'd like to plant fruit trees in my first winter if possible.

My fruit trees have grown, but my regular trees I planted to massively harvest in winter are not growing at all. I'm at Winter 24, the 4 fruit trees are almost fully grown, but none of the regular ones have grown AT ALL.

Muki's right - I planted an apricot and cherry tree on the first day of winter so they're ready for spring but the maple, oak and pine trees will not grow. I even tried planting a few and got an error saying they're out of season.

Have you been able to plant those in other seasons? I got the same message trying to plant them in Spring, and just didn't think to try for Summer or Fall.

Sounds as though you are both hoeing the ground - plant tree seeds on normal (unhoed) ground.

You can plant the winter seeds pack, during winter and they grow like normal crops.

Fruit Trees Do Grow In Winter, so... Are The 8 Tiles Surrounding The Tree Empty? Or Is The Fruit Tree Already Grown?

This is irrelevant for 2016, but in the 2019 1.4 update "Tree Fertilizer" was introduced.

Using Tree Fertilizer you can grow normal trees even in winter
