Dedicated Video RAM
OK: This might be a dumb question, or an irrelevant one, but I really want to ask it.
If my computer only has 128 MB of dedicated video RAM, will it still run OK?
Thanks for any help!
EDIT: I have tried increasing Dedicated VRAM through BIOS, but haven't encountered the option to be able to change the DVR. And yes, I use an laptop.

I understand that. My system is up to par with except the graphics, where it has:
Graphics: 128 mb video memory, shader model 5.0
I was wondering if maybe I could still run the game with only 128 mb of video memory.

I would say no but ... i didnt play with these kind of hardwares for 15 years.

It's time to spend a couple hundred bux to buy a better laptop or pc dude. You can have used PC for 50 bux that are better than this.

This laptop is quite new actually. I know it's not great specs. I am more of a casual gamer who wil try and play the games that my laptop can run. I know I shouldn't be complaining, and I'm sorry if I come off that way. I'm just trying to see if my mediocre computer can run this (seemingly) great game.

I am not trying to be an ass here dude but you are telling us that it's actually new. There is no way that your laptop is new. With these specs you got butt ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by the guy who sold it to you.

These specs for your laptop are 15 years old minimum. Trust me .. i had these specs back in the days.

Yes .. you could have bought the laptop recently but the stuff inside the laptop is not. I am surprised that it still runs to be exact.

I wouldnt even try to start stardew valley with this.

You need a 2ghz processor and 2 gigs of ram. Your laptop doesnt have that. Probably a 600mhz CPU and something like 256mb of ram. Nowhere near enough to play this game. Sorry man :(

I have 2.6GHz Processor and 8 gigs of RAM. I'm not quite sure where you got that info. I simply implied that I followed all requirements BESIDES the 128 mb. I actually stated that I fufilled all other requirements (those being the 2 gigs of ram and 2 Ghz processor). If you would like me to post my specs I can.

I also stated it isn't a gaming laptop. I use the HP Spectre x360, quite a new model.

what is the graphics... intel HD?
Samael Feb 29, 2016 @ 5:02pm
There is no way you have 128mb video ram only with a Spectre x360. If you have a 2.6ghz and 8 gigs of ram. Why would you have that low of video ram ? Are you sure it's not 1.28gb.

Even an INTEL HD graphics... he should have more than 128mb video ram lol. It should take some from his 8gig of ram like the other HD graphics IGPU.

Yeah gaming even casual with an old 128mb is really not doable anymore. I can't think of any causaul games I play that would run on that rig, serriously my bet is the cpu is 2ghz or better but if its 128mb its bus and cache are so slow that my old 2010 i7 clocking in at 2.8 probaly does 3-5 times the actual benchmark score just like my 8gb of ram out scores many peopls 12 gig set ups becuase mine is higher quality gaming sticks, from back in 2010.

Don't trust the numbers ever these days, right now you cna line up an old 2gig video card wit ha modern one and the new 2g r9 I got right now and I will blow that old one out of the water. Those use to be good mesurments back in early 2000s and 90s but since 2.ghz proccosers became status qou in the 2010 era of computing they haven't really skyrocketd in number like they use to, instead the quality of the ghz has just skyrocketed. Like my old i7 will still out bench mark some of these new ATI discount bin cpus that clock in over 3 ghz and are years newer just because of the other super important stats like cache, bus size etc.

You are fine dude. You can play this game. You made a mistake tellings us you only have 128mb VRAM. You have more with these specs. That's for sure.

He cannot have 128mb VRAM with a laptop that has a 2.6ghz CPU and 8gb of ram. What kind of stupid company would do that ? I'm sure he have a lot more. 1-2gb of VRAM at least.
tamorr Feb 29, 2016 @ 5:07pm
actually depends on the intel HD model, since it is one the uses drive space for RAM for itself.

The reason I ask is the fact that this person's card supports 5.0 shaders, and mine only supports 3.0 or 3.1 shaders.

So in essence what it might be is that is the base for what it uses. I don't claim to know everything about cards these days, but the integrated does work differently than the dedicated.

And the primary reason I am asking what the name or model of the integrated card the person has, since that is what it is sounding like.

I'm no computer wiz, so does Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 sound right?
