Fishing Areas?

I can´t really distinguish the areas where i can find the fishes.

Where is the river and where is the lake? I´m fishing on a river and catch fishes from the lake, then i move to where i think the lake is and catch wishes from the river... Where does one end and the other start.

Also: where is freshwater?

Yeah i thought so too... apparently the river on the left side of the bridge in the town counts as part of the lake. Only find lake fish there...

There are two rivers. The one that runs through town, and the one through the woods near the wizard tower. The lake is in front of the mine. There are also two ponds in the wizard woods. The big one that's easy to find and a hidden one that contains the special fish woodskip you need for the community center. There are also ponds and a lava pool inside the mines that you can fish in. The ponds have ghostfish, not sure if the lava pool has anything. And finally there's one in the desert that has the sandfish.

I think I covered everything. Oh, the eastern dock at the beach seems to have more of the rare ocean fish than Willy's dock, but that could be confirmation bias on my part.

yeah the 3 ponds in the mine each have one unique fish (which are totally on crack and impossible to catch without leveling fishing up first)
