Passing out at 2 AM is awful
So I'm 10 feet from my door as time ticks closer, it hits 2 AM, and I pass out, lose an unknown amount of money (rescued by Linus for some reason), and wake up at half energy for the day.

I can understand that I stayed up too late and the half energy is fine, but why does the character just pass out? I've personally stayed up for 24 hours in real life without issues but this game character must be a baby.

You're not supposed to stay up into the next day, lots of stuff goes on behind the scenes while you sleep (like lewis collecting your stuff) so you can't really be around while that happens.

would mess up the cycle of things and require a lot more work for something that's just always been that way in these type of games.

It's a game with dwarves, fairies and wizards, the fact that you can stay up for 24 hours irl has nothing to do with it. Beyond that it's simply how games in this genre work.

I'm trying to guess how he's going to be the first time he dies in the mines.
Some gold and half your bar is a day in paradise compared to that.

If he's as unlucky as a friend of mine was and loses half his money and 10 items(his best weapons among them) he's probably gonna ragequit xD

You should be a good friend to Linus.

I've played Harvest Moon and Rune Factory games. This one feels like Rune Factory with the monster aspect but it's still really Harvest Moon-y. In Rune Factory at least, I could stay up late without anything more to worry about than lack of stamina. And shipping pickup actually happened while the player is awake which makes more sense anyway. Why is the oldest looking person in town able to go out between 2AM and 6AM to pick up everything you threw in there?

Its more awful to die in the mines.

I'm not complaining about dying. If I run out of HP, it makes plenty of sense to have issues.

Trainer > Freeze Time > Profit.

Cheaty but always annoying when you're fishing and on a roll only to see that stupid clock hit 12 and then its time to go. Late in the game I honestly don't give a ♥♥♥♥ because you keep all your inventory and only lose a bit of cash which by late game you're earning more than you can spend.

It's a percentage based on how much money you have and how many itens, I lost 18 itens and 5k gold, plus lost my checkpoint of the last 2 levels of the mine, going from the level 90 elevator back to the 80.

Yes I know I can download or write a mod to stop time. I just think it's stupid to pass out because you're up too late.

Agreed. Especially when you in cave.

Especially considering that you unlock elevator on every 5th level and level down stairs spawn randomly from breaking rocks (if none has spawned from monsters) so you may spend 2-3 minutes on one level just breaking rocks and then pass out right before you do down to the elevator floor.

You could also just craft a "Staircase", which lets you move down to the next level right away in the mines, cost 99 stones to make.

You learn it from Mining Level 2.
