yes ofc you can go to the desert you can see one shop sell beets and other seed to grow

Maybe Beets didn't even exist back then, I don't know.

Beets are a fall crop. They take 6 days to grow fully and have a daily profit of ~13.33 g/d. ALso used in Vegetable Medley and can be processed into sugar.
