Tired of Harvey looking like a pedophile? I redid his sprite to remove that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mustache, details within.
Harvey's mustache is stupid, and I got asked to remove it. Figured I'd share the mod with everyone else.

Just copy and past the file inside your Stardew Valley portraits folder, which should be Stardew Valley\Content\Portraits and make sure to back up the old one! That's all, pretty simple. Let me know if there's any sprite issues or whatnot. Enjoy!

It's meant to be like this, though :)
You are basically disabling and interesting easter egg, as well as foreshadowing to what his character really might be.

Otherwise - great job!

Thanks a bunch for this mod, Harvey now looks like a freshly-graduated doctor and not someone's dad.

A+

Haha, I'm assuming you're joking. That's the pedophile serial ra_pist/murderer from Bag of Bones, isn't it? :-/

Thank you, Glloyd. He looks much less squirrely this way.

I never really liked Harvey much to begin with, but I gotta admit, he looks much better w/o the stache.

Thank you for the mod.

Really? Making fun about a person because of their looks? Because he has a mustache?
Thats so shallow...

If it were about something he couldn't change, it'd be one thing. As a man, I can tell you that growing any kind of facial hair and deliberately keeping it *trimmed* into that style is something that's not only a choice, but a choice you make each and every day, and even devote time in the morning to upkeep.

It's like a hairstyle for a girl; no different. If I were able to actually insert words for my character to speak in game, once I got on a certain friendship level with the guy, I'd even try to find a situation where it would be natural to bring it up and try to gently let him know he needs to lose it (it does NOT look good). It's not a hunchback. He can solve it in ten seconds with a razor.

I would never judge a girl for their hairstyle. I hate short haired girls, but I would never let it alter my opinion about their character.

Sorry, but when it comes to dating, attraction, romantic relationships, etcetera ... we're all victims of physical attraction to some degree (only in Disney movies does it ever completely go away), and I don't really believe you. You're human -- you would take one romantic prospect that was equal in every other respect, except they were slightly more attractive, over another that was wearing Farrah Fawcett hair and wearing rumply, lumberjack clothes.

Let's go a bit deeper into it -- what if someone was only wearing a hairstyle or an article of clothing because they firmly still believed it was still "in style," or it complimented them? What if that was blatantly untrue, and they actually *ARE* trying to conform with modern apparel, but are getting it all wrong?

What if they were lonely and were looking for companionship (like Harvey), but are completely oblivious that a fashion choice they've made is turning away 90% of candidates (don't feed me the "if they judge you based on that, then ..." line. We're human, it's what we do, and it's just reality).

Is it not okay to help them out and make a suggestion? I've been that guy before that's gotten the advice to stop doing something I thought looked good, but really didn't according to the majority of my peers. I don't wear my hair for me, as much as the feel-good books want to tell you that you are. Clothes, fashion choices, etc. are primarily for the eyes of others, and how you want them to perceive you.

If you want to be an individual and communicate you don't give a s**t about what others think the conformist march is at the moment, that's one thing, but it's quite another if you'd be that conformist if you only knew how to be, but are going about it all wrong.

... TLDR? Harvey's better without the mustache to the vast majority of people that have a voice to comment on the subject. If he were a real person, I think he'd find that valuable information. Everything about his actual personality in game screams at us that he's actually only wearing that mustache because he mistakenly thinks it's what looks GOOD; he's a people pleaser.

"We are only human." A term used by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, that dont like to be called ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
(sry I once heard a person saying that killing is normal, because we are just humans, so wars are not "bad")

A person that judges you for something you are is not worth it. Why should I change myself for a random person I give a flying ♥♥♥♥ about?

You are one sad person. I stopped giving a ♥♥♥♥ about other peoples opinion years ago and it was the best choice in my life.
I always listen, trying to remove bad parts of my personality if I hear someone complaining about me doing wrong things.
But I ONLY change things about me, that hurt other people. I would NEVER change something about my character or look, just because someone doesnt think its cool.

And you know what? Since I stopped giving a ♥♥♥♥ about peoples opinion, I have way MORE and BETTER relationships to people.

If you want to be an individual and communicate you don't give a s**t about what others think the conformist march is at the moment, that's one thing, but it's quite another if you'd be that conformist if you only knew how to be, but are going about it all wrong.
If we all would stop the sensless hate against everything that is different, everyone would have a more chilled life. Words like fashion and lifestyle are from people who stopped being a person a long time ago.

I pity people who want to cheer up their social life by changing into something, others like more.

I can understand it.
I tried it myself.

But as long as you live after the societys opinion you are not a person, you are a mindless clay figure getting formed by society.

I would rather die alone than changing my looks, hobbys or worldviews for another person. (I would change them if another person would prove them scientificly wrong)

Have a nice day ;)
