Nautilus Shell - Are there two types?

I have fished up a couple of Nautilus Shell artifacts. One was donated to the museum, as you do, the other I was going to use for the Town Hall 'Field Research Bundle', but it will not accept it.

The icon for the bundle says 'Nautilus Shell' but appears different from the artifact. Perhaps there are two 'types' of Nautilus Shell.

Am I missing something obvious here? Anyone out there had success fulfilling the Field Research Bundle?

one is white, the other is orange. orange one is the accepted one

The method to get the orange one for the bundle is to wait and check the beach every day.
It washes up, I've only seen two of them and both were in Winter.

Confirmed, found the non-artifact Nautilus Shell on the Beach in Winter. Was a snow day, but this may not matter.

Found on the 'west' beach, not the extra one.

another player said he found one in summer. Anyway Ive been checking the beach everyday for 2 seasons (half winter to half summer) and still nothing.
