Difference in dog and cat?

My friend has a dog who sometimes chased crows off his property before he had a proper scarecrow, was curious if the cat did anything useful too.

Also can you play with your animals?

You can't really play with them, no. But if you click the cat he will meow.

I've never seen him do that.
I have seen crows flying away, but I have never seen the cat chase it. Has your friend really seen the dog do so, or was the crow already flying? My crow was flying from off screen.

I also have a scarecrow, so he does not need to help me.

They are completely aesthetic.

Though in my experience the dog is extremely annoying while the cat is not. The sound effects chosen for the dog are obnoxious.

Yeah, I'm never annoyed with my cat. He just sleeps and falls over dead every once in a while.

I got the dog and my wife got the cat. So far they don't seem to do anything. I like filling the bowl in the corner of the farm with water though. I guess the pet drinks it?

I found out if you keep walking into them you can walk through them eventually but before I learned that it was hilarious frustrating.
