What is 'up & coming' ?

I got a letter in the mail today saying I'd be featured in the 'up and coming' in my mailbox. No idea what that means. Is this a thing I can get in game, or is this from the developer? It says SVT so I assumed like 'Stardew Valley Tribune' if it was gonna be an in game magazine haha.

Not really, you get lots of "fluff mail" along the way, from NPCs who want stuff, from your mother, from Joja. From the doctor/mayor when you faint/"die".

It just weirds me out haha, mostly because it didn't say actually who it was from.
The rest all have names at the bottom, that was just from SVT, but I was confused as I wasn't sure who that could have been.

It is Stardew Valley Tribune - it says so right in the letter. Nevertheless, it brings up something that makes me curious: what triggers this exact letter? Is it always at the same date (Spr 27, year 1)?

It could be total earnings. I got mine around the ~35,000 point. I can't remember exactly.

It isn't the same date since I got mine Summer 21, year 1. I believe it might only be available in the first year though? Also, my total earnings where around 28, 000 soooo I'm not too sure >3< Also, just realised how late this is :P

i got mine halfway through my first year too. Dont know what triggers it cuz my farm still looked like ♥♥♥♥ at that point and their like "hey dude we wanna come over and take pictures and stuff so youll be in some magazine. " so i spent the next few days tidying up removing weeds, grass, stones, trees etc. Then no one came to take pictures. So freaking dissapointed :D

I believe you get it after making your first 30,000 during your first year. I got my letter on spring 23, year 1 on my most recent playthrough. (I realize I'm 8 years late to this thread lol)
