Small question regarding fruit tree placement
The fruit trees mention that they need the 8 tiles surrounding them to be empty, but I'm wondering if you can place paths in those 8 tiles or perhaps even have trees share some of those empty tiles. I would try this out myself, but trees grow very slowly and are expensive.

I would guess that the fruittrees work the same as the normal trees (oak, pine and maple). So I think you could experiment with those.
Just guessing, but I would think that a path would be ok, while objects you can't walk through would not.

Pathing _should_ be okay, but I did experience if you had fences near them, they wouldn't grow. However to be on the safe side, you could always let them grow first, THEN put your stuff next to them :)

That sounds cheeky enough to work. I'm gonna give it a try.
My trees have been planted for over a month with stone path surrounding them and they're stuck at stage 1. I just removed the pathing a few in-game days ago so hopefully they'll start growing now.

The fruit trees are on the left. On the right you can see my other trees which are surrounded by stone path.

Update: They're growing now. I'm going to wait until they're fully grown and see if they'll continue to produce fruit after I replace the stone walkway tiles.
