Fishing first impression: sucks!
Step 1 has tight timing. Step 2 sucks hard. It may be easier when you have higher skills/rod, but to get there is imo seriously not fun. But the idea of fishing suppose to be relaxing, zen stuff. But my exp so far with it is that Dark Souls is generally easier than catching fish in this game.

Step 2 imo should be tweaked. Why not use actual fishing system instead of keeping a bar behind fish? I mean reel in when fish not fight back, hold when it fights back. If you fill reel in bar = get fish. If you reel in when it fights back, you lose the fish after some degree of resistance. Higher skill/better rod = faster reel in and stronger line resistance.

I'm too casual for this. I'm going back to Dark Souls.

Gets easier the more you do it. And not just because of the fishing stat.
I like it. Specifically once the treature thing started popping up. Balancing between that and the fish makes for a interesting little balancing act.

you have to level up your fishing that mean keep grinding with that fishing pole

Different strokes, I guess. I think it's one of the best ones I've seen. It actually feels like fishing unlike most games.
Lel scrubs
go back to minecraft.

But seriously its not that hard. I dont get what people are having issues with??
Some fish are harder to catch but mainly you just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ click your mouse and bam. Caught.

You guys realize it's like this for a reason right? Once you get the best rod you can use different types of tackle that can make your bar bigger, make the fish slower, make your bar stick to the fish, find more treasure, blah blah. Why does everyone want everything right at the start of the game

i hate the Fishing - it`s very Frustating.

I don't think it needs tweaking. I love the fishing component and I ended up making it to level 6 before Summer of year 1 started. It's tricky at first and you might not catch much in your first level or two, but as you level up and buy better rods, it gets easier. It's actually one of my favorite parts of the game.

I didn't like the fishing until I got the hang of how it works. The key is to move the bar in slow motions, even if the fish moves quickly. Otherwise the bar just goes like a yoyo.

I think it's a great fishing method. The time it takes to catch a fish is like an in-game half hour or so which is semi-realistic. It also creates more of a challenge than any harvest moon game really had (Tapping a button when a '!' appears.)
If we compare this to animal crossing, it's the same thing. Just timing the button tap. Not too fun.
Something tells me you haven't played many casual games that included fishing.

Just practice , and you will think it is ok and find more fun challenge

Admittedly, I thought it was utter ♥♥♥♥. But, it's kinda fun when you practice it. Plus theres bonuses that make it easier later

Fishing is easy, I rarely ever lose a fish. And I often get the rare chests with the fish too... now that part is tricky.
