Cooking?

How does cooking work? Can I only cook recipes that I've "found" or can I combine items in my inventory somehow to uncover some of the recipes?

I haven't figured out how to cook yet. I've learned recipes, but I'm guessing you need the kitchen before you can do any cooking at all?

@Zourin is right. You need the kitchen to start cooking your recipes.

I've only got recipes from TV but they don't show up in the list. So I got the kitchen now, but actually have no clue about how to cook. Anybody able to help me?

I have the same problem ... I have a kitchen and a refrigerator full of alll different ingredients, but the only thing I can make is an omlette. Why can't I make the recipes from TV? Why can't I just combine the ingredients?

You should be able to make the recipes you've learned from the TV, provided you have all the ingredients.

If you could just combine ingredients then everyone would just look them up in the wiki. That's not worth an achievement.

You're looking at the collections list. The recipe list is in the kitchen, when you interact with the stove beside the fridge.

Your collections list will say ??? if you've never cooked it.
Your stove list will say ??? if you don't have the recipe.
If you do have the recipe though, the stove will list the ingredients required.

Recipies are like crafting recipies - they're only in colour if you have the ingredients, otherwise they're faded, which is confusing if you don't look closely.

You can learn some by making friends.

Cooking doesn't really make you much money, but having a meal or two in hand when you head for the mines is a good idea.
