Slingshot

I just got the Slingshot by reaching level 40 in the mines and it is incredibly difficult to use so I see no practicality in using it for combat, perhaps if the aiming was better (The crosshair follows your cursor for example) it would make it usable but currently I'm having a lot of trouble.

I tried to use it once, said will never use it again..not sure why the control scheme was made the way it is for the slingshot..but I agree it's un-usable..

Yeah, kinda sucks because a ranged weapon would be fun to use.

needs a combat system revamp hard on this, Even with the control it was hard to use. Perhaps there is a secret reason to have it this hard to use maybe it affects a secret in the game?
Or its possible that it is a troll item.

If it is confirmed troll item then lmfao.

I don't think it's a serious item because there are 2 version of the slingshot and it is also used in different minigames during festivals, I think that it is just poor controls.

If you play the slingshot game at the festival, you'll get good with it pretty quick. It is certainly wierd, but makes some sense once you get the hang of it. Basically, click towards target and drag away from target before release. Like pulling it back.

Speaking of which, I was wondering if anyone has tried using the explosive ammo with the master slingshot? If so, any good? Thinking this could be an interesting way of speed mining :P

Yeah I figured that out, it's like a lot of pool games..but it's still very clunky.

Unfortunately I'm one of the people that is having a trouble with resolution so my screen was too zoomed in so the slingshot game was actually imposible for me Dx but oh well, I don't need the slingshot to enjoy the game aha

The slingshot reticle drops to the bottom of the screen then needs to be dragged around to whereever you where aiming, seems counter intuitive.

Yeah that's why I couldn't play the slingshot minigame at the festival, the cursor went right to the bottom and it forced me to shoot backwards

Yep, there have already been several threads about this... slingshot is totally worthless.

It is useless as a weapon, but is there some use for it? I've always wondered why it is a 'tool' in it's description. Perhaps needed to hit something across a gap or out of reach (would be a cool puzzle mechanic).

THere's the mini-game at the Fair, but other than that, haven't found a use.

I found a pretty decent use. When enemies are stuck behind rocks or other obstacles in the cave you can kill them with the sling, since the sling can shoot past the obstacles.
Pretty useful when ive got low health

I 've the opposite to be true -- I could rarely get the slingshot to fire "over" obstacles... it seemed like the rocks just ate my rocks.

However... there is one guy who posted about getting to level 257 in the Skull Mine -- apoparently his favorite weapon is the slingshot + explosive ammo. Haven't tried it myself yet.

In the options u can zoom out.
