Fish are on crack
Its official the fish in this game are on crack.... so much swearing i would love to say but i am holding it back. But seriously out of everything on this game fishing is the most infuriating thing i have ever done in any game like this. The mini game should not be so freaken dificult the fact it is like trying to play flappy the doped up bird to catch sonic the freaken hedgefish not to mention to have to bar rest on the bottom it bounces so it acts like pong bumpers made of super bounce rubber. Fishing in life is no where near this frustrating it should be relaxing not a mix of golf and hockey frustration and rage.

It would be more relaxing if you could drag the green bumper not throttle drop and bounce it everywhere. Everything else is hella cake compared to the fishing!

Maybe you should just practice more. Or do something else.

Yeah, I like the fishing minigames in Animal Crossing, Rune Factory, Trails in the Sky SC, and so on, because they aren't quite so stressful. But so far the game seems quite fun otherwise, just disappointed in the fishing, save mechanic, general stability, movement speed, etc. Minor annoyances more than anything, so hopefully they can get them figured out quickly.

Literally the FIRST time I tried the fishing minigame, i thought it was ridiculously hard. Then literally 1 minute after the first try I tried again, and it was extremely easy to get the hang of. I've caught loads of fish since then and it's not really difficult at all...just get a little practice, seriously.

I agree with the OP.. I caught the first two fish and now I can't catch a single one. I think I'm hooking sharks because this mini game is riddiculous.

I've just assumed that the difficult to catch fish require a better fishing pole/skill to be able to control the bar better?

Also the save mechanic is alright, it helps you to figure out when you should save and quit, it's very nostalgic to harvest moon. If you could save whenever you wanted it would kind of kill the cycle of day/night, sleeping is meant to be a big deal. My only peeve so far with this is that i always have to hold shift to run (instead of holding shift to walk) and walking diagnally actually makes you slower.

There's an "Auto-Run" option in the settings menu.

I really feel the fish fighting.

Me too, I think it's a brilliant mini-game, it's like you can actually feel the fish biting the hook.

fishing needs to be altered.. my community centre with the fish portion is going to stay locked because fishing is borderline keyboard breaking.

no matter where i fish the bar/fish are like magnets.. click the green bar and the fish runs the opposite way, so i hold in the button and the bar heads straight up while the fish heads straight down and i release the button and the fish runs straight up top so i think.. well by the time i get this bar back up there im gonna lose the fish... Fudge this shiz!

Fishing is absolutly fine. The Rewards outnumber Farming and Mining in the Beginning, so expect at least a certain grade of difficulty. You cant expect a Newbie at Fishing to be an complete prodigy right off the start.

Rank Fishing up, get better Poles. They increase the Green Area in the Minigame slightly, as I were able to spectate while watching Streams.

Those who says its fine after a few times must be high after eating the crack infused fish. This is what i have noticed the ones in the lake near the cave are more melow but the ones in the ocean are all over the place. A game this chill should not have a mini game so wacky. Even so with new gear and higher levels the fish still should not act like it injected rebull into its system and fly all over the screen even in the intial start of the mini game my daughter is a energy ball and she is no where near like these fish.
