How often does it rain?
It seems the odds of having a rainy day are pretty low? Its been a month and only 1 day of rain has occured.

I really heavily disagree that I'm planting to many crops. I also have the bronze watering can.

I understand that, its difficult to progress in the mines when you only have 1/3 to 1/2 an energy bar every day, assuming you don't have to replant or do other tasks. Without some rain to give me 'days off' so to speak I have had a difficult time doing other things like fishing, gathering forest goodies/flowers, and mining.

I think my game is bugged honestly.

If you have the time in the day you can hang out at the baths to replenish energy. Still, you have to be home by 2 AM or you get a doctor's bill from passing out.

You can get by pretty easily without rain.

You're planting too much if you've only got 1/3 of your energy left after watering.

It's best to use renewable crops. Just take a day to craft some fertilizer at the beginning of the season, and plant up whenever you get your plots ploughed and fertilized; after that, you're good for the season(s). Watering should consume ~1/2 of your bar, then you can take off into the mines and make it 5 levels before heading back.

Upgrading your watering bucket seems to save some energy (it definitely does time, with holding the button down letting you spray multiple crops) That, or it may just be the improvement of farming skill...

You can easily get a 2 stardrops by the end of fall by planting a rare seed at the beginning of your first fall ( bought from traveling merchant) and giving it to the statue in the secret forest (wooden log at far left of forest south of farm) you will need to get a steel axe quickly to do so though. You can get another from the stardew valley fair, from the prize merchant for 2,000 star tokens, you can easily get these by doing a mini game and then doing the spinner game and always selecting green, you should bet 1/3 to 1/2 of your current tokens to make a good profit though.

Yea if you mod your game or use that new bug that's currently the top article in steam's Stardew Valley news to cheat in a few rain totems.

That being said, it's very do'able even without it raining every day. As someone said already, just focus on rushing sprinklers (for starting players it's somethimes helpful to make a much smaller farm ASAP so you have extra energy to go mining). If you're that frustrated another option would be forgo'ing your farm altogether and going the Joja route... but that's just plain evil :)

Just for reference, my usual playthroughs leaves me 1/3 energy when I have a farm going and I usually spend the rest of my day and energy trying to knock off 5 levels of the mine on most days which is just enough for the checkpoints. After all, it somehow doesn't cost you any energy to run around... If you're going to attempt this, I'd highly recommend making sure you have the 'show tool hit location' enabled in options to save energy as well as possibly reinforcing yourself with something that gives you more energy. The easiest way to get this early on is make friends with Linus until you reach 3 hearts for Sashimi recipe .

And while there's no wrong way to farm I think, just ways that take a little longer than others, I'd personally avoid upgrading your water bucket if it's never raining (if you get lucky iwth a rain day by all means upgrade away). Leaving your crops without water for 2 days while it upgrades will kill some of them (1 day won't do anything but stop their growth though). And if you're really worried about getting back on track ASAP, I'd even suggest skipping your farm altogether at the start of the next season and keep mining until you hit iron for quality sprinklers (regular ones aren't worth it in general),

Just hopped back into the game and this first Spring it's been raining a ton. I used the opportunity to do more fishing than farming. It's the last day of the first Spring in my game and I've got a lot of money, a ton of progress in the Town Hall, a lot of ore and donated a ton to the Library because of fishing. Probably my best start yet. 10/10 would enjoy a ton of rain again.
Rain RNG is a PITA. I'd be OK with a rain quota. It's halfway through spring and it hasn't rained once.

I think it's rained 5 times in my 2 years

you can force rain with rain totems but yeah. depends on the seed.
