HELP! I didn't get a pet!

I read on the Wiki that I should have gotten a pet on my 12th day! But I didn't get one! D:
What went wrong??

I'm on day 16, still haven't gotten my cat. Seems people are getting them on different days but I'm not sure what the trigger is. /8

Ughh, I'm too far into the game to start over! I guess I'll just keep going without one. Maybe CA will fix this in the future...

It's on a random day in spring. It's not always the 10th or 12th.

Got mine on day 8... Pretty little orange kitty. Just wish we could pick pet styles from the menu or when they are delivered, say no and a new one comes in another pattern.
Another option is "I found these stray kittens in town, would you like to keep one?"
"Yes, the Calico"
"Yes, the Orange"
"Yes, the Black"
"No, thank you"

Yes, it would have been nice to choose the pet style. Maybe in a next update? :)

The only mention I've seen of the event where you get it being on a random day in Spring is in this thread, and the latest I've seen anyone get it is day 12 which is making me think this is a bug and the event is never going to trigger... Hopefully not though!

Yeah im about half way through winter of my first year and still no pet either, I choose the cat by the way. If anyone figures out what you need to do to trigger the arrival of your pet, message me please. I know the pets not important to the story line but I would still like to have one. :(

I have a cat, but don't need one. It got in the way of the front door at night once when I came back home and entered the house. So I was stuck and the cat was sleeping in front of the door and I just had to wait it out until I got knocked out from being tired, lol.
