Why one can't build a Path right in front of the house?

You can build a path right and left from the shown spot in my screenshot, but not right there. Why? Would be nice to build a path right from the entrance.

Agree. I placed cobblestone path leading all the way up to the house, and then that happened. Made me a bit annoyed. The rest of the game is great though.

That map is somewhat incorrect, I was able to build stone walkway on the dirt road, even on the next screen too.

I would consider this to be a bug seeing as you can happily put road tiles everywhere except that one spot.

I think its cause NPCs spawn there for events, and maybe it'd screw up if something was put there..
