How Deep Is The Mine?

I've seen in the description that it's a deep, mysterious mine...but how deep does it go? Is it procedual and goes on forever? Explain it, please.

There is a quest to reach the bottom, so it has an end. Based on the elevator spacing I would say between 80-100 floors

The bottom of the Mine is floor 120. You get a special item for reaching it.
