Is it possible to drop items on the ground?

When i craft something and my inventory is already full i'm forced to put an item in the bin to make a space for it!
I cant find a way to either cancel the craft or drop an item on the floor to make room in my inventory for it.

edit: and also can you rotate while placeing items?

if you click the item off the edge of the menu it should drop it

I think this could be a possible bug because i can manage to drop items while im on the inventory screen but i cant when im on the Crafting Screen.
I've tried clicking every where and even canceling the 'craft' but i cant do that either.
The only option is to throw something in the trash to make room for it in my inventory.

And i also cant drop items while the menu is closed and im walking about but i dont know if its meant to be like this.

If you just crafted something, it seems the only option is to put something in the trash. I'm not able to drop anything if the inventory is still full after crafting.

Rotating: It seems you can rotate some things with a right click when placing them.

I tried this several times when my inventory was full (tried to drop a acorn to pick up a leek) but the acorn got auto-picked and placed in my inventory before I could pick up the leek so it was a futile attemt. Eventually I just gave up and went back to place the acorn in my chest but when I dropped items they just pop right back up in the inventory. Adding a delay before auto-picking up items I just dropped would be nice.

don't know if anyone answered but press start go to gamepad and deselect "use controller-style menus" this will give freedom to move outside of border and drop items
