No Suitable Graphics Card
"No suitable graphics card found."
"Could not find a Driect3D device thatsupports the XNA Framework HiDef profile"

I get this error message when I try and start the game. I've searched online for about an hour looking for solutions, but could not find anything that worked. Am I simply out of luck? I don't know much about the technical side of computers so any help would be much appreciated.

have you tried installing latest graphics drivers for your laptop? you can get them at the manufacturers website.

Onarum's suggestion of updating your drivers might actually be your best bet, which you can find on Toshiba or Intel's site. If you've had your computer for a while and never updated the graphics drivers, they might be out of date.

I found another thread about this problem, and it sounds like it might be because certain graphics chips aren't compatible with certain levels of DirectX -- and just because you have DX11 installed doesn't necessarily mean your GPU can actually run at that level.

From what I can gather, the i3-350M should be up to DX10 compatible, and I can't imagine this game really needs to run at such a high level.

Here's that thread, with a bit of a flame war in it:

If that doesn't work, this is kind of a blind shot, but go into your game installation directory (right-click game name > properties > local files > browse), open the _CommonRedist folder, and if you keep digging, there should be two separate programs you can run; they should have "dotNet" and "XNA" in the file names. Install those, restart your PC, and see if it helps.

If neither works, you might just have to issue a refund and appeal to the dev to improve the compatibility. Multiplayer is still in the works, so the guy is still working on improving the game.

I think I'm having the same issue as you. :( this is my error message: http://i.imgur.com/OrQpx18.jpg

I'm trying to install some windows updates right now, but like you I'm not good with the technical side of computers. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've been so excited for this game for months.

Can you play other games fine on the same machine? also could you share your specs? here's a wikihow on simple ways to check that, the most important information is the graphics adapter

some graphics card models, or even info on integrated ones would be a massive help here, on the very slim chance its a problem with a specific model, as well. personally, i would also suggest onarum or dk's advice, as well as the long shot of reinstalling the latest model of direct X.

pc gamer review on your laptop:

"There's not much to say about the A665-S6086's 3D graphics performance other than you're likely not going to see worthwhile gaming chops from a laptop at this price point. With an integrated graphics engine, the A665-S6086's 3D capabilities are limited to casual games and much older games with very modest demands, such as titles from the Sims series."

Well I don't see an immediate problem with the specs themselves, it should meet the minimal reqsposted in the store page, though it does seem that this happens only to integrated graphic adapters.

same thing I always ask, tried updating the graphics drivers? you can get them at HP's website
I ran dxdiag to find out my graphics card info, but i'm not sure which info is useful and which isn't.
Ittermat Feb 26, 2016 @ 1:39pm
yea we did all that...I figured her computer would be able to run it...but its refusing to...We even tried everything it said in this thread...nothing...its still giving her the same error.
