We usually go with steam on most games, but if a drm-free version is available and more than one of us are interested in it, we usually go drm free.

It is DRM Free on Steam :P Just copy the game folder and put it elsewhwere. Almost all Indie Games are DRM free

Get it on Steam because it helps the developer sell more copies :)

I prefer to buy from the humble store if I can, they give a better share to the dev AND you get a steam copy :)

Does steam keys from humble bundle add to the games purchase count?

Right now, that's changing it seems. It's not so easy to find new games without steam drm. Look at the last indie releases. Except for Gnomoria and maybe another one, all the rest, being from an indie team or even a single developer ask you to start with steam (offline or not, that's not the point)

I need to try Factorio. I think that even that game need steam in this version.

best question ever to ask on a steam forum ...
The_Mad_Hater Feb 26, 2016 @ 9:55am
With all the complaints about DRM and second or even third party DRM complaints on steam I thought this would be as good of a place as any.

Didn't know about that. But I'm pretty sure all these game won't ask for Steam if you don't have Steam installed as far as I know. So technically no DRM if you don't have Steam on the computer you want to play.

Why not both? ;) If it's really good I'll consider getting it both but I'll get it on Steam first because it's less of a hassle.
