Multiplayer Questions
So, I have had the game a while, but only recently gifted a friend a copy for Christmas. I have only played single player, but we decided to play together for her first game. I have a few questions so I can have an idea of what to expect from her first experience (since I will be her guide through Stardew Valley). I will be the host and she will join the coop game.

1) Once you make a character as the second player, do you see the intro scenes?
2) Are there any events locked away from subsequent players?
3) Do subsequent players also receive a preferred pet from Marnie?
4) Is there anything you wish you knew about multiplayer before your first game?

Thank you in advance for all responses.

And how does time work in multiplayer? Does it pause when you're in the menu? Can you spend hours just trying to reel a fish in?

Nope, time doesn't stop at all for anyone. This is why mp game days seem to go by a lot faster than usual.

I do know there is a pause command you can type into chat, if you absolutely need to. Otherwise time goes on always. I also know that certain things, such as when to sleep, must be decided together for them to take effect. Further, shared/separate money and profit margin are decided as options in the beginning; players can each take a spouse and have children (even when marrying each other); and the community upgrade from Robin can only be purchased as the host.

However, all my reading has not answered my questions above.

- i told a friend she should play 1 or better 2 seasons into the game to get to know the game.
She didnt do this and told me she regets it 1 Year into the game.
- One tipp i tell every new player u should keep one of eyery thing in the game.
- And u get the rewards only once for the comunity Center, we used a mod to cheat these items
for everyone
- and for the time: there is a mod, which makes the game goes by slower. It is called TimeSpeed
u can config. it to ur liking

i hope i could help

@kfh Thank you for your thoughtful responses. (I would suggest some solo play myself, and have in the past, but she tends to blow past the tutorial of even the strategy games we play. I think it should be fine for Stardew, though.)

Stardew Valley, the hardcore and extremely challenging game that will literally kill you if you don't plant those parsnips. The Dark Souls of farmsims.

One thing that is useful with the sleep mechanic is that players can rest in the bed to slowly regain energy, as long as you say no to the go to sleep prompt. Both players need to say yes to that if you want to advance the day.

Other than that I think most of your questions have been answered already.

The intro can be skipped if she ticks the option when creating her character - the rest of the cutscenes will play as usual with an option to skip in the bottom corner, same as single player.

As for the the playing solo first, I played with a friend first and she taught me the basics as we went. Worked out fine for me, had more fun that way too. But it’s a personal preference thing I guess.
