Bestiary?
One feature I think would be cool to see in the future, possibly as an addition to the Collections tab, is some sort of Monster Encyclopedia or Bestiary that provides more detailed information on each of the monsters you've encountered, stats, location, recommended strategies and how many you've defeated.

That last one would be so helpful for the Monster Slayer Goals in the Adventurer's Guild as not only would it prevent having to go all the way to the guild just to keep track of how many of each monster you've defeated, but also knowing what each monster looks like just by looking at their bestiary entries.

What are your thoughts on the idea? :TheDivineRedCrown:

That's a good idea, but, as you say, there should really be some detailed info on how to properly deal with each monster. The way I see it, if there's such info, therefore, there should be a better fight mechanics, such as more potions or, as it were in The Witcher series, some kind of oils for swords etc. Like the oil for ghosts and stuff like that.
Also (due to the fact that we find blue books that delivers right into museum's library) we can even gain through Gunther's quest, for instance, ourselve a portable version of bestiary avaiable for us any time. Some kind of collaboration between him and Marlon for the sake of enhancement of cleaning monsters from caves.
Overall, I liked the idea since I've been anoyed myself from innumerous visits to the Adventurer's Guild just to find out how many dust sprites has left for me to vaccuum to death :satan:

Yeah, maybe I was overthinking it a little when I thought of the idea of recommended battle strategies as like you said, the combat in this game isn't exactly fleshed out enough for that sort of thing. That said, I still think having more detailed information on each monster, perhaps as an addition to the world's lore, would be cool to see. :greenslime:

I had a feeling that would be the case. Which is why I wanted to limit this topic to the vanilla game. Thanks for the comment, anyway. :espresso:

I'd argue that realistically, most people would get very little use out of that information. You're almost certainly never going to use a monster's raw stats to make any kind of strategical decision, the monster's locations will be memorized relatively easy since there aren't that many. And when once every now and then the information could come in useful, it's already available on the wiki.

Overall, it seems to me that this would require quite a bit of effort and development time that could probably be spent on more interesting things. Assuming there's even going to be an additional content patch after the one that's nearly finished.

I kinda agree with that, despite the fact, that there's already a mod for that, i'd like to know the dev's vision of this mechanic, and the Adventurer's Guild isn't fully "demonstrated" to the player, there's a lot more lore to the villagers, however, Marlon is concidered as a villager too, and we don't get much interactions with him. It could be really interesting update to tAG, fighting mechanic and even the valley itself, like the history of the first cave and etc.
I really liked your idea. Yes, it would be complicated to do, and if the dev's going to work on it, we'll be waiting for it like Hachiko, but the game is still in development and giving up on such an idea just because there's already a mod for that sounds quite lame statement for me. Minecraft, for example, is still adding things, that mods did earlier. The game became so much better, and we are able to see how the dev's wanted to portray each mechanic.
