Everyone thinks he is a creep but that's just Emily's and Clint's love story being discontinued when Emily became a bachelor due to a community vote (Or at least I think that was the case) so now when you marry Emily Clint still mentions her which can come off as "creepy"

he project emotional damage and playing the victime going all about it like "oh okay i understand, i am not gona get in your way" as if its allready decided and he want us to feel bad about him. now thats one broken npc. a lot of self loathing isnt good for the charakter... speaking of charakter he seem to be an individual of habit and not one of determination as his father grandfather and great grandfather all used to be blacksmiths. and it seem he not even once sugested a career change despite looking like he hate his life

Clints a broken man, and since hes not romancable like shane we can't fix him.

he's basically the loser in doujins and by that nature makes us the 'chad' or scumbag. depending on your position on NTR.

hopefully the final patch gives us a way to fix Clint like we fixed Pam's house. and if not pair him with Emily, at least pair him with someone from Zuzu city or something.

I always just thought Clint was lonely and shy. He never made me think he was a creep or anything, I'm sure he would be a potential batchelor if he wasn't in love with Emily. And yes it is a bit weird how he still tries to get Emily to like him after the PC marries her, I'm sure ConcernedApe/Eric made didn't do it on purpose. I honestly do like Clint, he sends me ore and metal bars and that's very handy for my farm. I have no idea why people don't like Clint, because he's fine. Also if you can be Roomates with Krobus why can't you marry Clint? Also if there's someone you don't like it should be Morris from Joja Mart.

The way he is written is very cuck/incel style like if he was more "emily is such a lovely women, I wish I had the nerve to tell her that..." instead of "I wore my new shoes and emily didn't notice" like all of his lines are written in a woe is me style that it makes it hard to actually empathize with his situation

A large part of what makes Clint creepy to people is his hyperfixation on Emily, but I think that's more a limitation of the game more than anything else. The game simply doesn't have the amount of dialog and character development available that would encapsulate a whole person, and instead tells simple storylines from the perspective of otherwise underdeveloped people.

The fact that the person who was meant to be the "anchor" that pulls him out of social isolation then became a marriage candidate didn't exactly help the situation either.

It would have been so nice if Clint were given dialogue as you befriend him, especially since you give him good advice, that shows he grows some and gets a more mature attitude towards Emily. Since he cannot ever get her it would be great if he could at least have a scene where he talks with her and gives it his best shot, and she turns him down politely, and then he learns to accept it. It would be a good example to show that it doesn't kill you to be turned down. You may hurt for a while, but you can get over it and move on. You can even still visit the saloon. You just have to recognize that you don't always get what you want, and that's okay, and then find something else to focus on. It would be nice if Clint decided he actually cared about something, rather than just hating his job and feeling frustrated and invisible.

At the Fair he shows off some shields and weapons he made. Maybe if you maxxed friendship with him his character arc could show that he gave up pining for Emily and instead decided to follow his own dream of creating beautiful adventurer's gear. Marlon could come buy stuff from him and give him praise, and Clint could smile and say how good it feels to know his work is appreciated.

Also it would be great to be able to buy weapons and shields from him. Or even just shields. I could use more defense in the mines!
