regardless I don't recommend more than 100 strawberry seeds.
In my case the original question was not about getting maximum money to buy maximum strawberry seeds. It was just about maximizing cash in the first two weeks. After that, there are choices to make about how to spend the money once you know how much you're working with. I like to consider all options.
I've had some playthroughs where I ignored strawberries entirely.
I'm considering some with little to no farming crops, which focus largely on animals.
I'm wondering what benefits there might be if we upgrade tools early, and how upgraded each should be, in what order.
I'm wondering which moneymaking schemes fit best with other agendas, vs. the ones that need intensive and time-consuming action.
I'm particularly interested in ideas that leave the player with lots of free time, and a light load of work. My recent playthrough where I did not farm at all for the first year was very relaxing. I'm hoping to recreate that casual feeling but maybe with some gentle effort put in just the right parts of farming. Maybe it could leverage really well.
basically keep it under 100 crops, until you get quality sprinklers. which is basically summer if you make either
easiest would of course be rice, but its hard to get seeds for that early on.
to get to farming 6, 4 harvests of 60 potatoes work. day 1, day 7, day 13, day 20, day 27.
yeah we could manage 4 harvests of 60 potatoes. would be pretty lax.
Overall you want to avoid as much farming as possible, you probably should get farming 2 if your goal is strawberries, overall if you can get as much money as I discuss by the egg festival rhubarb will probably be better.
I have made about 120k by the egg fest by just fishing on mobile but it took absolutely forever.
Casually fishing I could see 70k being reasonable by the egg festival.
On another save I made over 200-300k by then by rushing the mines, diamond/void/geode essence farming then doing skull cavern, this requires being very good at skull cavern and also took an eternity. I also would have probably gotten less if I had sold everything as most of my resources were unprocessed as I personally never go to the egg festival or buy strawberries (they are ok in general but horrible for money in actual gameplay because of the late date you are forced to buy them, the fact that you have to sacrifice a whole day early on just to get them, etc.)
Just diamond farming every day will probably net you like 150k if you can do it ok, geode farming can net you far more but requires having specific seeds to be as productive as possible.
Honestly even void farming and mining the occasional diamond node will net something like 90-100k
I would generally avoid fishing and farming if your goal is solely money, mining is the best money you're going to get and combat isn't that bad either, I would also not even bother with quality sprinklers, basic is far cheaper and way better for cost and when you get them.
If you are using mobile and have basically infinite free time it's a whole different story, because of the way mobile works with save states you can basically get insane money by optimising each in game tick, getting something like 117 diamonds each day for example. That's super niche but I thought I would mention it, I did lightly use this to get 120k by the egg fest with solely fishing.
I would say if you want to make it as accessible as possible I would do diamond or geode farming, the former does require getting to floor 115 in a couple days max to be good.
If you are good at fishing 70k ish is not too bad, you just need to have decent hauls at the mountain lake every day and be able to reel in catfishes most of the time.
Most I have ever seen by the 13th was probably something around a million but that was a super carefully ultra optimized save that took hundreds of hours to get just two weeks into the game. True min max players are awesome
why not kale? you only need 180 kale vs 240 potatoes. saves a lot of time and a couple sprinkler crafts.
Because Potatoes have a much higher ROI.
Potatoes: 8.33g/d
Kale: 6.67g/d
https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Crops
because 1.) Kale used to not give XP before some patch.
2.) Potatoes have cheaper seed cost and yeild 2 potatoes 25% of the time giving more cash.
3.) we arent crafting sprinklers at all. the basic ones are not worth the coal. and we won''t unlock the other ones until we complete our farming.
I've tried Kale after the patch and it just doesn't work as well as potatoes due to the ROI.
time is much more valuable than a few thousand gold this early in the game.
you can just make the sprinklers while you get to the bottom of the mine on top of that. heck you can just buy the coal if you have too, you're likely spending at least 5k on iron/gold ore anyways for w/e gold tool you need for your strat.
