I can't plant my taro tubers??

I tried on the main farm, the ginger island farm but still cannot plant taro tubers!! and yes, I'm trying to plant them close to the water source

they are a summer crop on the main farm, should be able to plant them on ginger island just fine, doesn't need to be near water, like rice, they just self water and grow quicker if you do

The item in your 11th inventory slot... I don't ever recall seeing that anywhere in the vanilla game. Are you using mods?

That item is the movie ticket for the movie theater. However, I also see the event notice things in the top right, such as the type of luck for the day, and who's birthday it is, which I know is a mod.

Ah, thanks for that. I never actually used the movie theatre so I never recognised that item in particular. Sorry for assuming that it was an item that didn't exist in the base game - to me, it looked like a treasure map one would use for the island.

I didn't even pay attention to the extra icons in the top right corner of the screen, so thanks for pointing that out.

I haven't been on Stardew for a while but try planting them without hoeing the ground first.

Yea I’m using some texture mods and a mod that shows informations. Should I tried removing the mods?

I don't know why you can't plant that, you don't even need to plant those close to water, I just tried on my ginger island farm on a random spot and it works without any source of water close to it

Seems like your save file contaminated with mods. I have an experienced where I playing modded save file by running the game without SMAPI. I can't harvest any crops without schyte, cause in those modded save file I used a mod to harvest with schyte.

So u need to remember which mods that affected with planting taro and disabled them. Also is it only Taro? But u can plant rice?

No, the screenshot definitely shows a hoed tile with a red square. Very strange. Could be a mod conflict
