Game launches, but not SMAPI
What it says on the tin, basically.

I see plenty of folks with issues with the game not launching when they try to mod, but I'm having a hard time finding this one. Maybe I'm not searching right lmao

I'm running an Arch distro, idk if the distro of Linux makes much difference other than terminal stuff. According to what I understand on the setup page on the wiki, it should be working (zip file not in game folder, installed via terminal, put mods in mod folder, etc), but SMAPI doesn't launch, nor is anything changed in-game.

If y'all need more info, lemme know. I've done this before, but it was on Windows a long time ago, so I'm rusty and I'm still learning on Linux

Not a linux user and tbh I don't know much about it. Maybe the troubleshooting at the bottom of the smapi linux install page could help. Someone said installing xterm helped them get it working. Someone else said that downloading it from another website helped. So if you downloaded it from Nexus try downloading it from the smapi website or vice versa. The steam deck page mentions opening a terminal in the game folder and running ./StardewModdingAPI to check for errors, idk if that would apply here just trying to think of anything else.

Okay, I ran ./StardewModdingAPI and got this

A fatal error was encountered. The library 'libhostpolicy.so' required to execute the application was not found in '/usr/share/dotnet'. Failed to run as a self-contained app. - The application was run as a self-contained app because '/home/hex/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Stardew Valley/StardewModdingAPI.runtimeconfig.json' did not specify a framework. - If this should be a framework-dependent app, specify the appropriate framework in '/home/hex/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Stardew Valley/StardewModdingAPI.runtimeconfig.json'.

I'm sure this means something to someone with more technical knowledge than I do, all I can parse is that something ain't right
