Tulips? Tulips!
Most people never notice that tulips have a special potential if grown in your first spring. Maybe even from Day One.

While everyone else is farming parsnips, potatoes, cauliflower and strawberries just for the cash, you should consider growing one of the worst-profit seeds in the game -- but not to sell.

You can harvest tulips after just six days of growth. Right after the mines open and you really need something extra to bring with you for the sake of healing and hunger, tulips may be your answer! A basic no-star tulip gives as much healing power and hunger restoration as a gold-star parsnip, and a gold-star tulip gives nearly twice that much!

The big drawback to tulips is that they come in different colors, so they may be difficult to carry since they don't stack well. But you can bring them with you daily or stash some in a chest at the top of the mines for a quick refreshment between elevator floors.

They are very affordable, and in a time of the game where other healing and hunger foods may be scarce, tulips could be a good option to consider.

p.s. They also make a liked gift for nearly everyone, and a loved gift for Evelyn!

Place a chest at the entrance. Put food in there to restock from later. When you hit elevator floors (every 5th floor) you can go back to restock as needed and drop off loot. I also put a chest near ocean to start with. Just leave your fish in there and take other junk with you back to the farm. Museum as well, to drop off collectibles and geodes. Maybe even at each house with loved gifts for each npc. Just don't put them where an npc will walk.

mushroom cave is also very good for restoring hps making Life Elixir full heals you when you drink it even though the tooltip shows a lower number. all those extra common mushrooms nice for either tearing apart with seed maker for fall seeds or eating for hps as well

Interesting^^

energywise the advantage isn't really that big compared to growing parsnips to day 9, but saving energy on watering is definitely woth considering

Though i personally don't really like early mining in general, since it's quite expensive on time and energy without that much of a return, especially when strawberries and fishing are a more lucrative alternative. I usually rather wait for salmonberries, which overall has the best investment ratio, since they're free anyway^^
