Does it matter what I put in? I didn't put in anything the first year because I didn't fully read the letter and didn't know to bring something. This year I want to bring something but forgot to plant stew worthy vegetables in time. All I will definitely have available to take is oranges, peaches, chicken eggs, duck eggs, mayo, or duck mayo. My melons *might* be ready the morning of the luau but I think they'll need one more day and I *may* have some peach jelly ready. In any case, none of the things I will or might have have sound like they'd be good in a stew so I'm hoping it doesn't really matter what I put in as long as it's something.

Does it matter, as in does it effect anything in the game? No, it is purely for enjoyment purposes. But depending on what item you put in will change what reaction you get from the Gov'na.

There are 6 possible outcomes:

Putting in a item with a negative energy value will result in the governor saying "Blech! This is vile! I think I'm going to be sick." before turning green and passing out.

Putting in a item with a 0 Energy value will result in the governor saying "Um... It's actually kind of disgusting. I think I'll pass on the soup this year.".

Putting in a item worth less than 100G will make the governor say "Hmm... I don't have much to say about this. It's an average soup.".

Putting in a item worth between 100G and 200G will make him say "Ah... that's a very pleasant soup. The produce from this valley never disappoints!".

Putting in a item worth more than 200G will lead to him saying "Oh my... that's the best soup I've ever tasted!". (Note: does not apply to Beer.png Beer and Truffle Oil despite being worth 200G and 750G respectively

Putting in no item.
