Good question, if you can test it out for us with Pumpkin Soups and Lucky Lunches that would be great! ^_^

It's been my experience, unless it's COMPLETELY coincidental, that on good luck days I found a lot more powerups and 5 dollar drops.

The guide I read does suggest better luck gets you more item drops.

ConcernedApe has confirmed publicly that luck does not affect Journey of the Prairie King.
