Right, this might sound stupid but how do you plant flowers around a bee hive? I can't plant tulips around it for some reason and the other thing is how do you get your wife/husband to feed the animals etc, do they offer eventually or do you have to give them something? Thanks

You plant them like any other crop, till the ground and plant the seed.
The spouse does chores randomly.

i can answer the first question, you need to just plant the flower seed near the beehives and let the flower grow, then never harvest it when it blooms, also be sure to have a scarecrow nearby so those pesky crows don't eat your flowers.

you plant flowers by buying seeds, planting them in tilled soil and continuously watering them (just don't pluck them until the last day of the season). Personally, I use the lowest tier sprinkler for watering them since I'm a lazy bum.

I'm not sure what makes your spouse help you or not, but I always keep abby at 13/12 hearts and she helps every 2-3 days. you cannot depend on your spouse alone for doing a job, just helping out.
Watering should be left to sprinklers (or your own hands) and feeding should be done by the autofeeder in the deluxe barn/coop
