I do a O shape with a single flower in the center since you only need to replant seasonally.

For a single flower, and the setup I use: https://stardew.info/planner/c1f10ead-e302-4eb8-b541-19f99f0d9ba2/

Yes that is definitely the more profitable setup, though ease of harvesting the honey becomes slightly more complicated and time consuming since you can't just walk in straight lines.. but that doesn't matter to me so I use what you've shown almost exactly only I've managed to get a couple more hives in and working total. Also need to swap out one of the ones directly next to the flower for a sprinkler if you don't feel like walking to the flower every day to water it.

This is my current Bee-Hive set up.

Its 5 flowers deep and its easy to water with the steel can.

I use this, 26 hives on 1 flower and out of the way + it's a square shape which is easier to fit into the rest of your farm. you could put more hives on the corners i guess but they won't reach the flower.

That's exactly why I like straight line layouts - I like being able to race up and down to collect the honey (or jam, or wine). Especially if you're interested in spamming hives. Hard to "spam" odd shapes to allow for collecting.

I probably come closest to what TnyHy does in post #6. Not exactly, but pretty similar concept.

Yeah I can understand that. There are situations in certain games where ease of harvesting makes a world of difference for me, such as Minecraft. A single flower's bee house cluster for me provides 41 flavored honey and takes me about 7-8 realtime seconds to harvest. The flower is also watered by sprinkler, conveniently enough. It takes me 4-5 seconds to harvest straight line designs, and those 3-4 seconds.. don't really mean much to me when we're talking 15~ extra honey per bee house cluster. That adds up to quite a bit, especially in Fall.
