Do I have to water fruit trees?
I'm thinking yes, but just checking. If so, do they have to be watered every day?

No, no trees need to be watered. But fruit trees must have an 8 tile radius clear of all objects including tilled soil while they grow. After they have matured and are producing, go nuts with the ground around them.

Cool. It's the first of spring, well second now, of my second year. I just planted 4 summer fruit trees, with the expectation that they'll grow all spring and be fully matured and producing starting day one of summer. Is that correct or do they only grow and produce during their appointed season? The don't die at the end of the season do they?

Fruit trees will grow in any season, but will only produce fruits during their appropriate season. During the other seasons they do not die or wither. What you did was probably the best idea, the Summer fruit trees will grow during Spring and should start producing fruits once Summer comes around.

Would trees grow in winter as well? I thought about planting spring trees at the beginning of winter but didn't do it because I was afraid they would die since they weren't fully grown during winter.

I want to say yes, Fruit Trees do but regular Trees do not. But I can't remember off the top of my head.

you dont need to water fruit trees. but depending on the season and the fruit tree you grew, it might not grow it's fruit. For example. Apple trees grow apples in the fall and cherry trees grow cherries in the spring.

Thanks. And since you're here and being so helpful, to save me from making another dumb noob thread, how do I get more hardwood after I've chopped up all the stumps and large logs on the farm? I'm out and need more so I can build a stable. I've gotten a little occasionally while in the mines, is that the only source now?

12 Hardwood per day from the Secret Forest, the entrance is directly west after you enter the forest from the farm (North West of the Wizards Tower), chop the fallen log.

If you have not taken the level 10 skill Lumberjack you can also do expeditions and break open crates, I've gotten a couple from a crate now and then.
