How do I attach fishing tackle?

I have a fiberglass rod and I think even before I got that rod I bought a cork bobber and a barbed hook from the pig lady, I tried everything. I can't place then on my old fishing pole nor the fiberglass rod. I also leveled up in fishing just now ande made a trap bobber and a spinner and can't place either on my fishing rod. How do I place these things on my fishing rod? Thanks!

you need the iridium rod to use tackle...

I think u need an iridium rod for that (7,500), but you apply it just like bait, Click on your tackle, move it to your rod, right click.
