Controller Support

So I normally play Stardew with a ps3 controller and I had the program installed for it. I left the game on and closed my laptop, leaving it plugged in. Now it wont let me use my controller in game and it said "gamepad disconnected". How can I fix this?

I'm having the same issue now with my ps4 controller. Worked like a gem until today.

Edit: I figured it out. Go to Settings> Use Xinput ports: 5.
No idea why the settings got changed but whatevs.

I know this might be dumb of me, but I can't locate that setting. I looked through my controller program settings, the computer, the game, and steam settings and I just feel lost. 😵

I realized that we had a similar problem but not the same controller. I was using ds4windows/ps4 controller.

What do you use so I can attempt to figure it out?

Is your computer plugged in? That is very common mistake.

I normally used a ps3 controller with the ScpDriver, but I plugged in my Ps4 controller and it worked too, just not in the game.

It's my laptop, so it's plugged in most of the time. It's just that I opened it after pausing the game and leaving for a few hours to it saying "Gamepad Disconnected".

*Update* I plugged in my Ps4 controller and my Ps3 controller today with different cords. Both of my controllers showed up and worked. I'm basically relying on the thought that the cord I used originally was weak or something and wasn't able to connect it because this new one I found connects it to the game and it works now. I really don't know if that's the reason or not, but it works for now, but i'll have to see if it keeps it up.

I'm using a Steam controller and am having this same issue. I know it's been a while, but I've been searching for a fix! Any help would be appreciated!!!
