Craftable Floorings
Do they prevent weeds from growing If I say, enclose my crops with them?

I'm using fences atm and it's far too tedious to have to pass through the gate every time. Seems like they're only really good with animals.

Are you talking about the end of the season? If you harvest produce, and then immediately replant, weeds won't destroy your tilled soil. (Well, unless you are growing "Wild" crops).

I think it's possible that they will prevent any grass from growing beyond them. But they do not prevent the new season stuff (new rocks, trees, grass, plants, branches) from spawning inside your area (same for fences) and the new season stuff can also spawn on top of the flooring and destroy it.

Basically, wouldn't reccommend doing this.

So stick to fences then?

Yea, although the fences will break eventually, they usually last fairly long. I know the stone fence lasts around 2 seasons (I think).

Not worth fencing in, IMO, fences are a pain in the socks to repair...

I use the flooring to keep the grass at bay, but I have noticed that trees and rocks sometimes destroy my flooring thats it near the edge, IN the season (not changing season)

In my experance.. Flooring does seem to stop stuff from growing intially (at start of the season) but it doesn't stop it from spreading on to it.. Fences do stop it from spreading.

All you have to do is clear away all debre each season on day 2 (or 3 if you need 2 days to plant).. and it'll never spread.. and thus never destroy anything (For me this is a few hours at most each season)..

Also put flooring around all your trees your tapping to prevent them from spreading seedlings.

Tis true.
However it's not that big of a deal/easy to repair. And it's not very often I have to do any repairing. Clear away the little bit of rocks/sticks inside my tile "borders" at the beginning of each season, that's about it.

Every once in a blue moon (and I do mean very infrequently) a rock or fiber will displace/destroy a single tile along the very outer edges, yes, but so far only on the outer edges (where there may be "empty" land for stuff to spawn in to begin with, vs. all tiles being covered by something). Replace with new tile, easy to fix. If you make the tile roads 2-wide, even less of a problem. I've never had a single crop/anything be destroyed when it happens, personally, tho I don't discount that it's at least a remote possibility. Some layouts/designs may be more vulnerable, for example. But it's been a total non-issue for me, at least. I've used not a single fence yet, in any of my saves. :)

Fence- Prevents overgrowth from spreading, as it decays into unrecognizable masses, it begins to generate its own overgrowth (at least, that is what it seems to be like for me in the few times I used wood/stone fences before saying "I'm just going to wait for iron.."

Flooring- Discourages overgrowth, will not prevent something from uprooting the flooring, and allowing overgrowth to immediately grow in. (imo/observations)
