Are my silos working?
It's wintertime. I have 4 chickens and 4 cows, and a silo full of hay. The problem is that the silo is constantly at 240/240 every day and my cows and chickens are getting thinner and grumpier. Is something not working or am I just not doing something right?

Is your Coop and Barn fully upgraded with the Autofeeder? If not you will have to manually take out the Hay and place it in their food troth's.

The answer is yes, your silos are working. They are storing your hay properly. What seems to be malfunctioning is the feeding process, be it the coops and barns or the user.

Check to see if the autofeeder is working, there should be 8 piles of hay on the bench inside the barn/coop

You have to manually feed your animals. Right click the box with hay coming out of it (it should automatically give you the right amount) then right click the empty spaces on the feeding area (looks like a shelf) next to it.

Me thinks he knwos not how to feed em.

Porr animols, they are gona die.

If you just got the normal coop and barn, you HAVE to manually place hay in the tray inside the buildings. There is a small block inside the buildings with the hay take it from there.

Yes, I missed that instructional part on the feeding trough. This post saved the critters.

Actually, they can't die. You can just stop feeding them, and they will only ever be thin and grumpy. The only thing that can "kill" them is a wolf attack, but that just makes them disappear, and only happens if you lock them out of the barn/coop
