how to use oil maker?

I crafted it for a couple days wait for oil but nothing happen.
should I put something? right now I just leave it in the kitchen. useless LOL

All the crafting equipment (with the exception of the one that makes fishing bait) will require you to place something in them to be processed, yes. In the case of the oilmaker, you'll need corn, sunflower or truffles.
