I apologize if you already know this, but they need bare dirt for truffles to "pop" and not too much grass. I also think they seem to like to wander more than the cows/goats. I try to pet them and open the barn doors first thing so that I can listen for that "pop" and double check for truffles while checking crops and the coop animals. It also seems that f there are too many animals wandering the same AI pathing, the truffles just don't seem to trigger.

I did not know this so thank you. I'll try to use this to help myself.

And for a fair bit of that time the piggy was a baby, and I don't think babies find anything.

Alright...That still feels just overly rare.

Well, with love, thats almost 1 a week. Truffle Oil is used for mainly the rain totem, so they would want to limit the amount you have. So I dont think its totally rare, but less common due to the item you make from it.

Regardless, the only help I can actually give is, pet it daily, make sure the food is up, and others have said, make sure there is dirt around. Although, my pig finds truffles in grass perfectly fine *shrugs*

Truffles in IRL are fantastic on food rather its in salt or oil can you use it ingame in food? if its only used for rain totems then its being implemented improperly since its a cooking ingrediant that is highly rare and valuable at (dont quote me on this) $600 dollars a pound?

I cleared half of my grass and my pigs instantly found 3 truffles

Currently I have 3 pigs with maximum relationship wandering around my farm and I get like 4-6 truffles every day with gold or iridium quality.

It seems like if you are present on your farm, the pigs are more likely to find truffles (I'm not sure about that though) and sometimes it can be hard to find them if they are hidden behind something like a tree, building or gates. The "Tracker" perk is very useful here.

I have 2 pigs. Each of them finds between 1-3 truffles a day, in grass or dirt. I make sure to pat them and keep them well-fed.

i'm more concerned that my cows don't give milk everyday and yet have 5 hearts.

Do the pigs need to be fenced in? Ive had a pig for a while but no truffles yet
dalgo Apr 6, 2024 @ 2:49am
No they do not need to be fenced in. They need access to both dirt and grass. It helps to pet them regularly but that is not essential.

when I first started getting truffles I only got one or 2 a day, then I gave my pig a treat and I got 11 truffles the next day. Keeping your pigs happy makes a huge difference. Also they will leave truffles in the grass, but it makes it hard to find them, I also noticed when I planted more BLUE grass in the pen area I suddenly got a lot more truffles the next day. and I only have one pig.
