I want to wear a dress to the dance
So I'm at the dance rocking a pretty green bow and some killer boots and the boy I've been totally stalking for a year finally says yes to dancing with me so I don't have to stand on the side-lines and cry anymore. Finally I get to be the belle of the ball... in my overalls?! All the other girls have pretty dresses, just because I'm a farmer I don't get to be girly?

PS: I love this game to itty bitty pieces! So much love!

Haha yeah it is a bit wierd that you dance in your overralls while all the other girls have a dress, i agree. =)
Clothing options overrall would be a cool additional later on, to go along the hats!

I was just thinking this, since I was finally able to dance this year ... and I'm in my overalls. I was intently waiting to see the dance, assuming I'd change into a dress, but nope. I was also a bit disappointed that you don't change into wedding clothes, either.

A general option for a dress/skirt [for both sexes because equality rocks] would be a nice addition. you aren't farming every day, some days you do more socializing. Feels weird to do that in work clothes.

Yes, it is similarly strange that, on your wedding, your future husband/wife wears a suit/dress and you, yourself, stand there in your normal farmers clothes :D

There will probabily be an update about it or a DLC where you can change clothes. There is already a huge list of avaiable ones to choose so I dont see why you wouldnt be able to change it.

if you befriend the wizard with 4 hearts he will let oyu change ur appearance in his tower for only 500 anytime you want

I think the main reason the clothes don't change, is CA didn't want to force anyone into a fashion style.

"Women wear wedding gowns, men wear tux" to every formal occasion!
Well, Except that doesn't work for the women who refuse to wear a skirt or dress ever.
It doesn't work for the men who would have wanted to wear a dress as well, in such circumstances.

Or For the Women who would have wanted to wear the tux (either in part with the refusal to wear dresses, or just because)

Equally you can't make the call on who your partner is, because you can still be a woman who doesn't want to wear that kinda stuff, or you might be going after the same sex, and /want/ to wear that kinda fashion stuff, and would then instead be thrown into the opposite sex's clothes.

________

But, A fix to this dilemma would just be able to enter Wizard's backroom easier (1 or 2 hearts instead, or hell, no hearts, The wizard KNOWS you more than you know you, apparently, and about your future too, so just no hearts, and make it just a cost to use it each time.

Add in Wedding and Tux and other dress/pants options to the character creation, so that they can swap clothes before the event.

Then, On the Mail that comes the day before. Add in that the player should think about dressing appropriately, and/or mention the wizard might have a means to dress for the occasion.

This way, similar to the center, the player is urged to investigate, and can dress the way they feel like dressing for the event. Maybe I want to wear Hawaiian for the Luau, or dress in a blue tux for the spring festival, or a white/black tux for a wedding.... or hell maybe I'll just go in the Spring Fest duds.

Maybe I want to be a dapper farmer, and /always/ wear a tux and a top hat? With a monocle over one of my eyes.
"mm , Ai say"
_____
This would fix the problem. People that want to dress "girly", man or woman, can, essentially whenever.
Maybe they want to farm in a dress that day? Let em! Marnie does, why can't the player regardless of gender of orientation? (at least.. it looks like Marnie does... she even exercises in a dress)
People that want to go formal to a formal event, could, without forcing anyone else that doesn't like formal, to have to as well.
If a woman wants to wear a tux, let em! Anytime!... as long as all those people can afford to spent the money on the rental/change, Let em!

Now what I'm really concerned about is how and when did my character get a Harp... and learn how to play it... If I can't even afford to change clothes during formal occasions.... (plotholes)

Perhaps giving the player an option of wearing X outfit for that event would be handy.

Although in future just go to the Wizard's tower the day before the event to get yourself into dancing gear.

I think this would be the best solution. Getting to that location feels unnecessary for the distance traveled, however short it is

Yeah, I didnt go to dancing the first year and got pretty excited about wearing the dress the next year... totally disappointing.

Now, im one that normally doesnt wear dresses and skirts only veeeery occasionally, you have to actually force me to wear a dress (wedding, events and such) but I have any right to be girly and in my wedding (real one duh) Im really looking forward to the dress (fatness begone) so i this game it was.... annoying to see how it turned out.

I was thinking it could be done in this way:

If you managed to get 4 hearts with someone in the first year, you get to dance but with your normal clothes. From the second year onward if you managed to trigger a cutscene you would be able to wear the dress/tux

You would need to reach at least 4 with a bach char.
You would need to have been done a number of fetch quest (this is so you have been helping the community)
You would need some hearts with the old lady and the mayor.

Then you either receive a letter or an invitation to the old lady's house, there the cutscene its that you are asked to participate i the dance.

Now, this dance its a folk dance of some far away town, it has certain qualities of tradition and community, thats why all this is needed, they invited one of your eligible bachs or the one(s) you are dating (more than too would be interesting XD) to help you practicing dancing.

You can choose either, dress or tux either for inclusion and also who cares, give me the dress (I wonder if I would look hot in the tux :p)

Anyway, this is what I want if possible for the dance flower festival.

This is exactly what I've been thinking, when I finally got my favorite Sebastian agreed to dance with me, I was also curious about how I'd look in a dress...but nope, when every other girl are swirling gracefully in a cute white gown, I was wearing a blue killer boots with a skull mask on my face....Also Sebastian didn't complain, but I really felt weird. :/

Yeah, was kinda dissapointing to dance in common clothes while all the other girls got the cute dresses.
And I wanted to be in that cute wedding dress like Penny.
But no, farmer fashion only.

I would love something like in World's Dawn where you can get clothes from events or buy them. And you can match them.
One of my favorite things about that game is the clothing system.
Love to rummage in my clothes chest to see what I'm wearing that day.
And there's some cute clothes. This game also need cute clothes!!
