Coop vs barn
Ok, I am on first year, its winter 15th. I have enough money and supplies to build either a coop or a barn. Which of these would be a better money maker down the line? Whichever I do get I will more than likely go through the upgrades. I am not too concerned about getting the necessary animal items for the Community Center because I have been fairly lucky finding them on Gyspy. So what is your opinion?

Coop for rabbits chickens and even dinosaurs. Milk, cheese and cloth does go for a lot but mayonnaise from eggs is steady and reliable. Pigs in numbers can be extremely profitable when making truffle oil.

It's a tough choice, both can make decent money but I'm leaning toward the barn for pigs and sheep mostly.

Best advice I can give is, Barn first, Coop later. Barns are more profitable, and at your stage I'd say Barn would work better, so long as you have a silo. Barns are more profitable due to pigs, cows and sheep, they give very useful things, like Milk and Wool, but the Coop isn't bad at all, just harder to maintain.

Honestly neither are that much of a money maker compared to crops and artisan products with crop products such as wine.

Their upfront costs will take a long time to get back as you usually need first a silo to stockpile hay and then the building itself and built some grass in a fenced area for them to eat during the day other then winter.

The animal rewards are probably better early on for the items they give that are needed for gifts such as eggs.

Remember that animals take some time before they produce goods and will require maintenance on your part to feed them when needed, less so if you have a decent amount of grass for them, and the daily hugs.

Both are really bad. Use starfruits for the summer and fairy roses + bee hives for the fall. Bee hives are so OP for starters. You have to invest way too much time for animals.

Yeah I built a silo before anything.

Animals are both a huge initial financial investment, and they are also a huge time investment. I would honestly recommend you do not pursue Animals until you have a self sufficient crop operation. Get some of the tier two sprinklers and you can then spend less time watering and more time petting and feeding the animals.

Gathering their eggs, milk and wool and making artisan goods put of them is why you get Animals, and that stuff is time consuming.
