fishing in game sucks

so who thought up this terrible idea for fishing? i have yet to catch one fish due to this green bar turning red. i click to make it following the fish? but it never works. seriously it sucks

On a serious note, once you reach Fishing 3+ it becomes much easier, depending on where you're fishing you might also be hooking more difficult fish.

If you are adamant that you do not like it, might I suggest this mod:

Would you prefer to just click a button to catch a fish, this is way better. Also like the other guy said it gets way easier, you just gotta get over the hump of the first few levels.

Edit: But seriously, different fish have different difficulty levels. Trying some of the harder ones first will be almos impossible, which might give the impression the fishing itself is impossible. It's not. Carps in the lake and in the pond, for instance, are ridiculously easy to catch, as they barely move at all. It's all about when and where you fish until you improve your skill.

Yeah I can't catch fish ether.. As for mods gonna wait till the game gets steam workshop .. I fear I will ruin my game if I try to put it in myself. ;^; * sucks at codes*

Make a copy of anything before you alter it with mods, if it is faulty on startup just revert it back. There's plenty of people here who can also help you through any issues with them.

Oh, dear, and I actually like dogs. Forgive my mistake, oh man's best friend of the Pug nation. A girl I dated once had a pug, and it was a nice dog! I'll atribute my mistake to excess beverages of a certain kind and leave it a that.

Edit: But seriously again, I'd say that the mountain lake (near the mine) and the lake in the hidden forest are nice places to fish in the start, because they have a fair amount of carps. And carps are probably the easiest fish to catch in the game.

Why people keep complaining about catching fish.. Did you guys even try?.. I'd say legendary fishes are hard (not impossible) but at least it should get better if you try to fish everyday and in the festival

I fell for clicking at first too. You have to hold the button to make it go up fast.

Maybe not difficult but certainly not fun or enjoyable. Especially when you're starting out and trying to level it. Lot's of wasted time and energy in the early game.
