Can't figure out how to eat or give gifts
I just got started this evening. Having a lot of fun.

So far, I can't figure out how to eat anything. When the inventory is open, all I can do is move items around. I don't see a key for "use" or "consume" or anything like that. How do I eat?

Also, I found a flower with the description that it would be good to give as a gift. I don't know how to do that. When I click on people, it starts dialogue, but there's no option to do anything other than read what they say. How do I give them stuff?

While holding the object right click anywhere to eat it, right click on the person while standing next to them to gift that item. You do not have the inventory open during this.

To eat, item in toolbar, select it, r-click I think it is, say yes when it asks if you want to eat it.

Gifting, same thing, except you have to click on the npc in question. So you'll do a lot of standing around people whilst holding cakes on top of your head etc. 8)

To either use or gift something, you'll need to place the item in your hotbar (the first ten or so spaces in the top of your inventory). You can never equip/eat/gift items without first placing them there and them either clicking them or pressing the corresponding key to select them. For eating, select the item and press your use key. To gift something, select it and click the person you want to gift while holding the item.

Oh, ok. So I have to have selected the item from the toolbar first. Then it will let me give it to someone I click. Ditto for eating. Thanks. I was trying to do all this from the inventory screen.

I think because I found a geode and it said take it to the blacksmith, and when I did, the window popped up saying put it on his anvil. So I walked over to the anvil and clicked on the damned thing a hundred times and all it ever did was tell me what an amazing anvil it was.

Then I realized that the screen that said "put it on my anvil" that looked like a tutorial screen actually meant put it on THAT anvil in that window, and not on the anvil in the shop.

I guess I just assumed all interaction was done in the inventory window. Thanks everyone.
