Train Dropping nothing?

I've caught the train passing through 6 times now, and thus far it has never dropped a thing - I thought maybe it doesn't do it EVERY time but it seems from discussions that it does - is this unusual that nothing is happening for me? Watching youtube vids it seems to drop SO MUCH so there's no way I'm missing it, plus I've been hunting around afterwards just in case!

Both times i've bothered to go to the train I've only gotten 1 wood and 1 geode from it.

Oh maybe it isn't as common as I had gathered in that case! One youtube video I saw dropped at least 8 or 9 items!

Never attempted to go to the train despite being told it drops stuff.

Speaking from a time-efficiency stand point I saw it counter productive to spend 3-4 game hours traveling there (or 2 - 3 if I plan ahead and catch it before it arrives) when I could spend that time gaining a few thousand gold worth of gems, ores, mob drops or fish.

I may go there at some point just to see the art in-game and what it looks like though.

Only really worth the effort when you happen to be close nearby I imagine.

Quite so, which for me is practically never as I'm either working hard on the farm three screens away, fishing the ocean or forest river four screens away or spelunking far away in the desert.

It had never dropped anything for me, not caring about more.

I've checked several times, the train never dropped anything for me either. I just ignore it now.

I started ignoring it too. I showed up 5 or 6 times for the full duration of the train and never had it drop anything. More or less just wanted to see it happen, than expecting anything worthwhile to drop.

The drops depend on luck. Check the fortune teller on TV to know if that day is the day or keep a dish handy for buffing luck. I prefer spelunking regardless.

Only open topped lorry wagons have a chance to drop anything (between 1 and 2 things, depending on the content).
And the setup of the train is random ... often there is not a single lorry wagon in the train.

At a certain point (IMHO) it isn´t time efficient anymore, to get to the train ... but for someone still in the beginning it may be worthwhile and give you ores of levels you haven´t reached yet, or Magma Geodes

Perfect, thanks all! Funnily enough after trying repeatedly and being at the end of year 2 with no luck...I just got some stuff now! Just a bunch of copper and stone.

I've never seen it drop anything, either, after catching it a couple of times.
