Resource question
What's the best way to get copper, iron, and coal? Currently, they're my most needed resources. Is the fastest/cheapest way mining? Or is there an easier way?

Copper, mine floors 31-39. For a better lit area, floors 21 - 29.

For iron, floors 61 - 69 are very good I find.

For coal, 55 - 64 by killing Dust Sprites (black bouncy things that often drop coal when killed).

You can purchase all three from Clint but it becomes prohibitively expensive. 75g per copper ore, 150g per iron ore, 150g per coal.

I always find focusing on getting my farm up and running using fishing (Especially during Spring 1 at Mountain Lake) for early gold, and buying my ores from Clint is the fastest way (since you can use those ores to build Quality Sprinklers, and Upgrade your equipment to Tier 3-4 depending on your Gold situation). The key is stack fishing Gold using Mountain Lake in Spring 1, so you can mass Blueberry Seeds in Summer 1 and Cranberries Seeds in Fall 1 (these 2 crops also train your Farming skill really really really fast). Also Fishing can provide you with a neat unique weapon in one of the treasure chests as well as combat rings/boots on Lucky Days, which gears you ready for splunking during your first Winter.

When I do it this way, I can generally net about 5-6 mil gold by the end of Y2.

Not to mention Clint is a jerk about it. "If you are too lazy to mine yourself, you can buy them from me." :steamfacepalm:

Well, looks like mining it is then! Gotta hope for those rainy days.

If you get about 200 blueberry seeds up by Summer 1, you can actually net around 60,000-80,000 every 4 days after first harvest, which is more than enough to buy all the ores you need from Clint for both upgrades and Quality Sprinklers.

We got cranberry at fall, which brings profit on par with blueberry, or even more if I'm not mistaken. It's a bit late, but not too late in your case

I already have a bunch of crops, so buying any more at this point would mean too much to water , it would take up too much time

Save up whatever gold you have now and buy iron and copper and coal from Clint and find Quartz in the mines. This way you can make and use quality sprinklers. The faster you can get your first 25 Quality Spinklers (or 8 Iridium Sprinklers if you are lucky from traveling vendor), the faster you will stop having to use energy for farming and use it to explore the other aspects of the game (mining, foraging, gift giving, Stardrop Berry unlocks etc).

I have about 30,000 g atm. Should I really spend all of it on copper/iron ore?

Alternatively you can mine the ores yourself and progress deep enough into the mines that you are making huge profits early on from gems and ores, selling gold bars even if you go far enough in. Use every rain day to go deep in the mines. I highly recommend never wasting a single g on Clint's ores. Not until you're a millionaire at least, it mathematically slows your overall potential down when comapred to other methods of expanding your farms and spare time skill sets.

I seriously recommend you don't burn that money on ores. Get the level 2 bag. If you're passed summer of year 1, get the level 3 bag, maybe the lvl 2 fishing rod if you have the extra g floating around. Spend anything left to make sure you have at least 150 seeds planted at all times (constantly raise this number as you upgrade your watering can and find yourself having more energy available via foods etc), then go mining and work on upgrading your watering can and tools.

Believe it or not, a Quality Sprinkler is only 3200 gold from Clint when you factor in 5 iron, 5 gold ore, and 3 coals you need to make a quality Sprinkler (Quartz is common in the mines or using recycling machine from the broken glasses/cds you get from fishing which is quite common when your fishing levels are low). So you can get enough for 20 Sprinklers in just 1 Blueberry Harvest and have enough to buy Iridium Sprinklers from Krobus and Traveling Vendor (who can sell up to 5 Iridium Sprinklers at a time).

You can make close to 2 million coins if you get your Sprinklers up early by the end of Y1 :P!
