Are you patting them daily, and milking them whenever possible? Do they have a troth full of Hay and are you letting them out to graze? Do you have a heater in the Barn for the Winter?

And do you close the barn over night?

Are they still new cows? I find there is a bug with some of the farm animals where they wont gain hearts and become happy until you log out and restart the game once you buy them. Hope this helps.

- Feed them every day
- Talk to them every day
- Let them out every day (spring-summer-fall)
- Buy and place a heater for winter
- Take care of them every day (get milk)

I have the opposite "problem", I ignore all my animals because I'm lazy, but when I go check them it says they're happy. Maybe they hate me and that's why they're happy when I leave them alone :/

Hay is fine, but they love fresh grass from outside.

Grass Starter can be bought, but it spreads over time. Animals eat it so you might want to start with a decent amount.

I have the same problem...they are new cows, so haven't built up hearts yet, but they're out every day it isn't raining for fresh grass and I pat them each day...not collecting any milk either...is it because they're new?

Grass also just automatically grows outside. Just let them out.

The main problem I get sad/angry animals is when I forget to shut the barn or chicken coop doors. Its annoying.

Everyday I have to open the door first thing. Then have to remember to shut the doors before I go to sleep.
