Crab Pot question.

Does anyone have an effective way of collecting the goodies inside the Crab Pots without grabbing the Crab Pots themselves?

My current method is to have 1 of each Crab Pot item + filling every other slot with junk / other things. This makes it so I can't actually pick up the Pots and will instead display the error message.

Is this the easiest way to do it, or do you have a better way? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used to click carefully to collect the fish. If I'm careful enough, the click will just grab the fish and leave the crab pot alone.

I don't use crab pot often though, only when I must. The value of fish caught is low and it's constant chore.

I don't think individually clicking on 200+ crab pots is a viable option every day for me unfortunately, haha.

I always have a stack of bait selected while I'm emptying pots, so instead of picking them up it simply succeeds or fails at putting bait back in.

I just run around holding the bait. It never pick the pot up. It either put the bait in after it pick it or not. Also just noticed theangrybeard post. Ya i do the same here.

You guys are making me regret choosing the 'no bait needed' skill, my farming would be 10x easier with 0% trash chance.

I've done the bait thing as well, but I've also found that having a tool selected (say, your watering can) and holding down R&B will let you just run along and grab all the crab pot contents without also picking up the crab pots themselves. Of course, then you do another round to reapply bait, unless you've managed to reach Level 10 and took the No-Bait profession perk.

Yeah, I was wondering if that was the reason you were running into this problem... not having to mess with bait always seemed like a waste of a skill to me, since you can just put them back into your fishing pole after you're done, and they're really, REALLY cheap to just buy.

With the Luremaster skill, trying to run along a line of Crab Pots holding down right click would still pick it up if i lingered too long.

This seemed strange, so I had to go try it for myself. And what do you know! Same problem.

or you could just right click to harvest instead of left click?

ive never had any issue accidentally harvesting the pot itself, ive 15 in a row down one dock i havest to the end and rebait on the way back, no accidental pickups and a mostly empty (at least when i start XD) inventory

i didnt take the crab pot related skills (im a pirate, yarrr!) so maybe its a bug related to the lack of bait skill
