Does giving Birthday presents upset spouse?
I read that giving gifts to other "single" characters upsets your spouse. However, do Birthday Gifts also do this?

I have most of the other characters at 10 hearts, except the Singles, who I have to very slowly level up through job board errands and talking...

Oh, maybe that's why Abigail suddenly dropped two hearts for me one day. I gave Elliot a birthday gift.

Oh, yes, love of my life. Just because I acknowledge the town doctor's birthday or the oldest lady in town, you get jealous?

When you give someone (seems to only be opposite sex) a 'love' gift there is a chance you will lose 30 relationship points with your wife, Leah's birthday is coming up soon for me so I will test if birthdays overrule this effect.

A heart is 250 points, talking increases it by 20, every day you lose 2 points with every villager (which is why it is advised to talk to everyone at least once a week to counter this). So a single 30 should not lose a heart, but multiple love gifts given in the same day to different people or over many days without maintenance could be bad.

It doesn't have to be a "love" gift, I gave leah a leek and Abigail still got angry at me and i lost a heart. I feel it would have been a good idea to befriend everyone as much as possible before getting married...
