Anyone playing with a controller EMULATING keyboard and mouse?
I've seen some people say that they're playing with a controller, but with limited support because some menu interactions requires the mouse.
Have anyone been able to emulate mouse movement with the controller stick while having all the other required keys bind to the controlller? If so, is the experience good enough to enjoy the game with no annoying hassles?

Yes, but I use the steam controller, made to emulate the mouse :p

Since inventory and all that is all grid based, I'd imagine any controller stick would work fine, if not quite a bit slower than a regular mouse. I know nothing about making a joystick act as a cursor though.

I use xbox controller for normal play, barely touch key and mouse except for type and took a half stack, so i got a bit of experience regarding controller only. So, what did you mean with

this? Didn't movement are using stick as default? Unless you referring to steam controller then.
Forgot to add, left stick for char movement, while right stick for cursor movement. I didn't think you'll need any kind of emulators, or there's another problem perhaps?

Joy2Key has a function to emulate mouse movement. I don-t use it, but you can try it out.

That's what happens by default with my Logitech F710 in X-Input mode, if I'm understanding you right. During gameplay the D-pad and stick control my character, but when a menu is open they both control the mouse cursor.

The 'limited' support' bit is because you need a keyboard to enter text like names.

If you want even more control over your controller binds, you should absolutely buy XPadder[xpadder.com], it's worth it.

Oh okay.
So one can actually play the whole game with a controller without worring of having to reach for the keyboard and mouse? Excluding when typing is needed, which i would guess happens only at the beggining of the game. Is this correct?

Based on what people said, playing with a controller having the game recognizing it as a controller, there's no way to use some menu windows, like the inventory. What i want to know is someone had a good experience playing the game with a controller emulating mouse and keyboard for being able to play the game 100% of time using only the controller.
I play only with controllers. What did confused me is, why did you need emulator program? Open inventory, switch items, check stat, and so on, are controller compatible. Even building can be done with controller only

I'm not playing the game.
I was asking this based on what i've read on other threads, which left the impressoin that the menus weren't compatible with controllers. I will make the decision to buy this or not based on what i'm asking.

I see. Oh well, at this moment, there's only a few things that can only be done with key mouse. Take a half stack, typing, harvesting crops diagonally, and few other things. Don't worry about that controller things, they did a decent jobs anyway

I'm using a logitech f310 controller set to X (xbox controller mode) the right analog stick moves the mouse cursor by default while playing SDV. I still use the mouse when I'm organizing boxes & purchasing things but thats it.
