Can't make a scarecrow

I literally cannot figure out how to make a scarecrow. I'd assume that it should be on the crafting list but it just isn't. I looked on the wiki and it says the only requirement is that you need farming level 1.

What day are you on?
Did you plant/actually harvest those starter parsnips? I don't know if you actually have to do parsnips for the quest, but since it's sort of a tutorial quest, it might be attached to the Farming lvl 1 req.

Edit: and yes, it should show up in your craft list.

I'm on day 20, have the quest 'Advancement' to make the scarecrow and am farming level 3.

There was someone else who made a post with the same issue ... could just be a bug, sadly. :/

Try making a new test game w/new chr (it won't overwrite your current or anything) just to do the parsnips/farming lvl1 bit and see if you get it then. If so...probably a save glitch.

I found a solution but it required cheating to reset my farming skill to 0 and rank it up again. That got me the ability to make scarecrows

OKay how did you cheat to reset farming skill? My friend is having the same problem

I think ended up downloading the CJB Cheats Menu from the Stardew Valley Nexus and used that to reset it. Only problem with this is that you have to run the game using SMAPI which is a mod load for the game. It runs as an entirely separate version of the game so you can't get achievements if you care that much about them. Although you can just switch back to the normal version of the game as far as I remember.

You can still get achievements if you run the game via smapi. You just have to edit the launch properties for the game in Steam, instructions for which are included with the instructions for downloading smapi.

Also, it is very easy to alter your save file by using Notepad+ or the like. Just google how to edit your Stardew Valley save file (specifically how to edit your skill levels/choices) and you will find plenty of help.
